Adorable Family

A few weeks ago I got to photograph this lovely family. Their new little boy is just the cutest thing, and even though he disliked being out of mom’s arms, we managed to capture some lovely pictures.

While I was there, I couldn’t miss catching some shots of the older brother as well :)

Until next time!

A ‘Winter In Toronto’ Photoshoot

This shoot was done over the Christmas holidays.  My lovely cousins came to visit, and we couldn’t pass up the lovely weather!

We used 2 of the lovely historic areas in Toronto: The Distillery District and The Evergreen Brickworks

It was great fun and I’m so lucky to have such gorgeous cousins to model for me!

Until Next Time!

A Beautiful Boy and a New Logo!

A beautiful baby boy and a new logo!

First lets talk about that logo. It’s about time, I guess! I wondered about going back and adding it to all the image I’ve uploaded to various sites over the years, but it just seems so tedious and pointless, so I’m just going to start here :)

Anyway on to this lovely little boy. I did the maternity pictures for this family as well as the newborn shots, which is always nice! The before-and-after is always fun to capture. He’s a big boy! He’s, I think, 3-4 weeks old in this shot, but looks about 3 months! He was too big for some of my newborn props, but was a huge pleasure to shoot anyway! He has gorgeous eyes and a lovely full head of hair.

But how could he not be gorgeous with parents like these!

Anyway it was a lovely time, and I hope I’ll see him again for one-year shots!

Until next time!

An Adorable Newborn Shoot!

I was just the luckiest photographer ever to get to shoot this adorable little girl. She was too tiny for some of my newborn props so we had to be extra careful with her :)

She was so easy to photograph, and mostly very sleepy.

Dad got tired of all the pink in the photos, so we did some more ‘manly’ shots for him, haha

It was a great shoot, and I hope to see her again at 1 year! :)

Until next time!

An Engagement and Family Shoot

This shoot was a bit of a twist on an engagement shoot. Carey and Chad wanted engagement photos, but  wanted also to acknowledge that their marriage was not only about the 2 of them coming together, but also about their children. I think it’s beautiful that they are including their kids in everything to do with this marriage, including their engagement photos!

There were many full-family shots, and also many of just the couple. It was a lovely morning, and the colours on the trees made for an easy and enjoyable shoot.

I’ll also be doing this wonderful couple’s wedding photos this coming fall – should be an awesome time!

This past week I did 2 newborn shoots that turned out FANTASTICALLY, and I recently finished editing a winter fashion shoot taken in some historical areas of Toronto, so look for those being posted in the near future :)

Until next time!

A Quick and Chilly Fashion Shoot

The shoot I’m talking about in this post is about 2 months old now.

Mid November came and I was wanting to do a few more ‘fashion’ style shoots. Lauren has a great look and energy, and was willing to work with me again, so we decided to shoot at the Adamson Estate. Now, the Adamson Estate is a property around Port Credit with these old historical buildings, but it also has forest walking paths, it’s lakefront, and it has an old barn – so it pretty well has anything you could want in a shoot. The biggest deterrent is simply that it’s busy, and you need a permit to photograph on the property on weekends. This is a HUGELY common place to do wedding/engagement photos in the GTA. Luckily for us, we were shooting on a Tuesday :)

But, man was it COLD!! Because it’s right on Lake Ontario, the wind was bitter. Poor Lauren did great with it, though…. She did have a coat with her, but didn’t want photos in it, and braved the elements for the whole shoot :)

My favorite building on the estate is the barn, but a close second is the back of the main building, where everything is in white, and they have these lovely white stairs that you can do so much with! There’s also a cute, ornate mini-balcony that you need permission to get to – I’ve never gotten to use it, but I would jump at the chance :) After the Adamson Estate, we also made a quick stop at the Rhododendron Gardens.

Even though it was chilly, we got some great shots and I was pleased with the outcome overall :)

Until next time!

An Awesome Fall Family Shoot

Hi all!
The shoot I’m talking about today was actually done back in the beginning of fall. The photos were possibly going to be used to Christmas cards or gifts, so I was asked not to post them until after the holidays.

This family is awesome. Mom and Dad are gorgeous, and their little boy is just adorable. I’ve known them for years, and I was really happy to do pictures of them. We started out in the farm ruins in Belfountain.

This little boy’s smile, and bright eyes are just melting! He was so well behaved, and happy to try different poses – what a pleasure :)

I feel the need to insert here that all photos I do are returned to the family in colour, black and white, and usually in a vintage edit as well. All these photos have a soft vintage effect on them that I really like – but the family was also given the original version. We visited a couple different places – one of my favorites is a little country road with a pretty view of a farm – it’s gorgeous in all seasons.

Look how much father and son look alike!

Anyway, this is one of my favorite shoots that I’ve done so I’m really excited to get to share it now :)

Until next time!

A Cute Maternity Shoot

This was my second maternity shoot, and it was wonderful :)

Lindsay invited me into her gorgeous home to take photos of her, her husband, and her adorable dog. I was excited to see the space I had to work with – their house in Port Credit is stunning! Lindsay had showed me photos she liked online before we met, and really liked the idea of including her dog in some shots – he was more than happy to pose for the camera!

After some shots with the white backdrop, we moved into their bedroom to take some different shots.

The funniest moment was easily when we invited their dog onto the bed for a few shots, and he immediately started licking Lindsay’s belly!

After some more shots in the bedroom, and some in the baby’s room, we moved outside. Their backyard goes right into the valley, so we had a ton of space to work with! Luckily it wasn’t too cold out so we got some nice shots :)

All-in-all it was a great time, and I can’t wait to take pictures of their little girl when she arrives!

Until next time!

A Fun ‘Framed’ Fashion Shoot

It was a while back that I decided to create an account on Model Mayhem. I had worked for a while with friends and cousins and wanted to branch out to photograph working models. For the most part I found it very intimidating, but there were a couple people I met and did work with. This model, Doreen, found me this past summer and wanted to do a shoot using a picture frame.

The outfit she chose really popped with the outdoor surroundings. She was great fun to work with, and had a very cute and playful style to her poses.

The photographs were taken on Moccasin Trail in Toronto. It’s one of those places that is largely unknown, but is just STUNNING – plus it has the well-known ‘rainbow tunnel’ that you see when you drive down the Don Valley Parkway. This was also the first time, during a shoot, that people stopped to watch me work. An asian family and a young couple both stopped at one point to watch us as I knelt in the grass and Doreen posed on a large rock between some trees.

Anyway, I had a great time and would definitely work with her again!

Until next time!

Baby’s First Christmas Shoot

My best friend from high school was the first of our little clique to have a baby. Ever since then I’ve used her as my own personal little model. She’s adorable, and has this fantastic smile, and bright hazel eyes, and is always so happy.

At 6 months, this is her first Christmas. I was super excited to do Christmas portraits of her, and brought a TON of festive props. Favorite moment? When I put an adult Santa hat on her she started playing peek-a-boo, pulling the hat down over her face and then lifting it back up – Cute!!

After all the Christmas props, I wanted to do some with a pretty white dress I found at Winners.

In all honesty I wasn’t completely thrilled with the look of the black blanket, maybe next time I’ll try plain white, or at least I’ll flatten it out to give it a smoother look instead of the fold-y look I went for…. but even with my mistakes, this sweet girls manages to look like a little angel :)

Still looking forward to a newborn shoot I have scheduled for Friday – so much anticipation! :D

Until next time!
